The mission of the Carillon Guild is to play meditative music using the chimes on the sanctuary organ as the congregation enters into a quiet time of preparation for the 9:15am and 11:00am worship services.  The beautiful music of the carillon also rings from the church tower and is heard throughout the neighboring community.  The carillon players are ringing out the message to all that the church doors are open for worship.

The Carillon Guild offers all adults and youth 9th grade and older the wonderful opportunity to play their favorite hymns as chimes on the carillon portion of our beautiful pipe organ Sunday mornings prior to the 9:15am and 11:00am worship services.  The required skills are the ability to read the top line of the treble clef and the ability to play these notes using the right hand on the organ keyboard known as the manual.  Playing music on the organ manual is very much like playing the piano.  The transition from the piano to playing chimes on the organ is easy and usually taught within 30 to 45 minutes.  Carillon Guild members play once per month prior to one of the worship services.  The Carillon is played for 10 to 15 minutes prior to the prelude.  The music of the chimes and the prelude provide the congregation time to quietly reflect and prepare for worship.  The Carillon Guild sponsors an annual Sunday afternoon luncheon meeting every September for a time of fellowship with current and prospective members.  If you would like additional information, please contact the Carillon Guild Leader, Beth Price via e-mail beth.price@comcast.net or by phone at 301-840-9367.
