The Devine Ensemble has a long lasting tradition at Grace Church. The Ensemble was named the Devine Brass after the founder of the group Bill Devine. Bill was a professional musician that enjoyed sharing Instrumental Music in the worship service. The Devine Brass evolved into the Devine Winds when we included woodwinds and now the Devine Ensemble because we include Strings also. The ensemble has also gone from playing only at Christmas Eve and Easter Sunrise to playing once a month from September through June.

The Devine Ensemble is open to Instrumentalist starting in grade 6. We generally ask the 6th graders to start playing with us at the Christmas Eve Service as we play mostly familiar Christmas Hymns that would be at their level of playing. They can continue playing with us if they can play the level of music we are playing or they can just play Christmas Eve with us until they feel comfortable with the level of music we are currently playing.

The Devine Ensemble rehearses on the third and fourth Sundays of the month from 12:15–12:45pm and plays once a month in the 9:15am and 11:00am service.  Contact Kristin Beebe at if you have any questions about this gr
