More about Linkages To Learning

LTL is a community school partnership between Montgomery County Health and Human Services, Montgomery County Public Schools and non-profit service providers which provides needed health and social services to over 5,400 students and family members in 29 elementary and middle school communities with high rates of poverty.

Our staff assists students and their families by providing or connecting them to services and resources that address the social, economic, health, and emotional issues that may interfere with student success. We assist whole school communities by bringing additional partners and resources into the schoolhouse to offer a range of supports and opportunities to students and families.

Your donation will have a direct and immediate impact on the families that we serve, and we hope you are able to partner with us to help the community. We been working diligently to ensure people who need help during this economic and health crisis caused by the coronavirus are getting the continuum of aid they need. Among the public health challenges and the number of devastating loss of employment for many of our clients there is an alarming increase in food insecurity. We have been filling in the gaps and partnered with different organizations to obtain regular food donations to be distributed on weekly basis among our clients and the community at large.

Each holiday season, gifts are provided to children and teens. Please consider helping children enjoy the holidays by providing them a gift from the wish list. Gift cards can also be provided to teens of any denomination from suggested stores such as include Target and Walmart.

Testimonials

Melva R. – “LTL, thank you for the Christmas gifts! After having lost of one of my daughters, being sick for more than half of the year, and dealing with my severe Depression, having the Christmas celebration, and the gifts donations from Linkages was something that brought light to our family. Seeing the smile on my sons face with his new bicycle was priceless. I couldn’t have asked for more during this time. Thank you LTL staff for the hard work and for always supporting our families. Not just to cover our basic needs, but also by bringing happiness and joy into our lives.”

Dolores A. – “Thank you to the hard workers from GMS LTL staff for all of the support during the Holiday Giving Program. This has been a hard time financially for my husband and I because we were not expecting to have twins. We are a family with a small income and having to cover the needs of two adults and four girls is really hard. However, LTL was able to provide gifts for all of our girls. My two teenagers were beyond happy with their gifts and the two babies were able to receive their first educational toys. Thank you LTL staff and God bless you for your hard work.”

Cinia G. – “During the holidays, the Linkages to Learning team strives to serve with excellence. We serve families throughout the 7 schools which include Rosemont ES, Washington Grove ES, South Lake ES, Forest Oak MS, Gaithersburg MS, Gaithersburg ES, and Fox Chapel ES. Our jobs are very humbling, but the greatest satisfaction we receive is when we give to our families and they have a smile on their face. Our time is gold when we are preparing to serve the community which does not go in vain. We all have very diverse caseloads at each school. I remember one of my cases at Rosemont ES when a family of 8 was given presents and food from St. John Neumann Catholic, Epworth Methodist, and Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church, they were in awe to be receiving food and presents for Christmas. The biggest gift during the holidays is to give and serve the community because we impact our families, and they will always remember who was there to help in the time of need
